WOW! First of all, these run about a half size large, which is great for me because I wear a 10.5 most of the time and can't find it very often. These fit me perfectly but if I was a solid 10, they'd be too big.I bought these on a whim. I needed shoes for a 9 day trip to London in wet weather. I have bad feet. I have bad knees - I'm basically a hot mess from the hips down when it comes to pain and walking. But, I manage to trudge up to 9 miles a day when I'm travelling. Good shoes are mandatory for me. I was skeptical about the soles of these because they don't appear to be cushy. "Cushy" is a double edged sword, though. If they aren't cushy enough, my feet will hurt. If the soles are too cushy, then it's like walking on a trampoline and my knees and hips will hurt. Shoes have to be the right amount of cush on the soles while providing stability to me feet. I shy away from non-laced squishy shoes like Sketchers Go Walk for that reason.I had low expectations for these. But, I ordered them anyway because I need something that won't get soaked and I can walk in. My fabric running were going to be an issue in the rain.I put these on 2 days ago and haven't wan't to take them off since. I swapped out the insole (lightly glued in at the heel) for my custom orthotics and they fit perfectly. The slightly larger sizing meant I had plenty of room for the arch support. The soles are pretty solid yet not hard (like magic or something). The tops don't rub or press on the lovely varicose vein on my ankle that doesn't like to be pushed around. The stability for my feet is fantastic. I'm walking on solid ground with no swishing around in the shoes. They are super easy to pull on and off. I'm weatherproofing these babies and then we are hitting the streets of London.
