This Winyoung 100% Nature Jade Heating Pad for Back Pain Relief is pretty cool to the touch, but is a Fast Heating Pad with Temperature Adjustable knob ranging from 1 to 7 , then high and off. The day is very nice green color, and a stitch in a yellow thread to stay in place. The leather material is also cooling to the touch, with two long strips of Velcro for attachment. It is pretty easy and straightforward to use as a heating pad, especially for the waste area, or over the shoulders to the back area because of the elongated shape.Impressions:At first impressions this heating pad looks like something that came out in the 1980s, the controller is old fashion and has what looks like an IR remote control window (it's not), the split cord design is awkward (both plug and heating pad end share the same connector on the remote), and it has a thick but short cord, so unless you are within 2ft of an outlet you will need to use an extension cord.Now for function it works just wonderful, it can get extremely hot 50F to 159F, and can probably cause burns if used on bare skin, the jade stones look real, and you can see color variations in them, and they do get hot fast and retain heat ok, the heat zone is very even, you get almost instant heat with this heating pad, I often can't use it at full HI setting for long it becomes too hot, so 5-7 is often a great heat level for me.I also was watching the electricity usage, and it's not too bad, the jade stones keep it hot long enough where it only turns back on once they cool down, so I thought that was neat and saves on the electric bill, the controller regulates heat nicely, which you can see with the little green light, when it's green it's heating, when off it's not heating, this pad has no timer shut off function AFAIK, so it will run forever, unless you turn the dial to off or unplug it, I couldn't find wattage information, but according to my electric monitor it uses around 70-130 watts (on HI when it's heating), the Velcro belt strap is very strong, but is loud when undoing it, which at night can wake others up, so I usually slip out of it rather than unbuckle.Build/Specs:The build quality is nice, everything seems well stitched and secure, the plug can detach from pad easily, it seems to use real Jade stones, and the belt looks to be made of leather or pleather I can't tell, but like I said this looks like something from the 1980/90s and everything about it from function, quality, build makes me wonder if this was built a long time ago lol, it doesn't feel cheaply made at all.Pad size: 7.3 x 51.2 x 0.4 Inches.40 Jade stones.5ft power cord.Heating modes: 50F to 159F.Material: Nature Jade stone, leather, polyester. (according to manual)Controller:8 Levels of heat, Off, 1-7,HI.Green LED to show when heating or not, and another green LED lights up the current temperature selection.Overall I love it like it and definitely recommend it, If you want a HOT heating pad, I just probably wouldn't leave it unattended.This jade heating pad works amazingly well - it heats up fast, gets incredibly hot, and it uses real jade stones. You are supposed to wear this on top of your clothes, rather than under - otherwise you risk skin burns. If you do decide to wear it under your clothes, be very careful to keep the heat setting low. That being said, the design is a little clunky and could definitely be better.The Good:Unlike my other pad, this one appears to use high quality jade stones that are bright green and shiny. My other pad uses dark, dull stones - and the stones in this appear to be true jade and excellent quality. This one heats up in seconds, and the heat penetrates deeply thanks to the jade stones and Infrared-emitting carbon wire used. Infrared heat penetrates more deeply than convection, which is the standard form of heat in heating pads. Infrared has been studied in numerous clinical trials for pain relief and other therapeutic effects. That being said, I'm not sure I have noticed any special benefits from these kinds of jade stone heating pads. They feel great, have a nice weight to them, and get much hotter than normal heating pads - and that is reason enough to give them a try in my opinion.The bad:This is very bulky. The power cable is seriously huge, and I find it gets in my way quite a bit. The whole thing looks a little dated, like something from the 80s. It's comfortable enough to wear, but the thick power cable and bulkiness of the belt mean you are pretty much confined to one spot and can't move around much once you put it it on.Thoughts:This jade heating pad works great. It uses real jade stones, and with 7 power settings from 50F to 159F - it gets much hotter than my other jade stone heating pad. I'm not really sure who could possibly use this at 159F, but maybe if you were using it through a blanket or a thick shirt. Overall, I probably would recommend looking for a less bulky design if you can, because while this one works perfectly, the cable design and location is a bit of a hindrance to a truly relaxing therapeutic experience.
