To be frank, this is one of the most exciting episodes of the characters in the Walking Dead. Rick Grimes and his community discover other communities that they can trade with. The dark factor is a character named Negan who is the head of a group called The Saviors and he forces all the communities to give 50% of their goods to his group. There are so many twists and turns in this part of the story; I don't want to ruin the fun with any spoilers. Let me say that Negan is a brilliant strategist with street smarts and a sense of brutality that strikes fear into the other communities--but then there is Rick Grimes and his group who challenge Negan--and they don't know what they are getting into. This book is chock full of goodies. It's totally different than the show on TV but equally as excellent. Grab it while you can. Amazon is selling this for a ridiculously cheap price--people will be paying twice the price by Spring. Get it now. Believe me, I don't work for Amazon. I just love The Walking Dead and this is one hell of a chapter in the lives--and deaths--of the people in this story.I've reviewed these before, as I now have all 5 of the ones currently out there. These are awesome collector's editions. They are large and hefty, so don't buy it if you want to read it on a plane or laying down in bed, but if you want a higher end edition that can be reread or passed down, then this is the one for you.I highly recommend the comic if you are a fan of the TV show. The show takes a few liberties in the story, so reading the comic is somewhat like following a different story. These collector's editions have extra artwork and input at the end that is really neat to look through.I have read all the WD Omnibuses up until this one. Let me explain this rating....I gave it "3 Stars" because of the Negan character. I am not a sensitive person but the dialogue Kirkman created for this character was too much. Every other word out of this guy's mouth was "F" this and "F" that and continuous profanity.....while this character was brilliantly made the cursing was way way too much. Kirkman should have ratcheted it down a bit and it would have made the character even more effective....after a while it was like "I had enough of this guy opening his mouth.....".With that said WD is an awesome story, great characters etc. Buy them all....these comics are different from the show too.I have all the Walking Dead Omnibus volumes and this add another fine zombie filled tome. For me, these hardcover books which are in slipcases is the best way to collect the material. Not overly large but nice to hold. Love Kirkman and the zombies! Must have.This is where the Walking volume went downhill. Just poor strytelling in every area. The main villain is a joke, I also lost any remaining simpathy I had for Rick. The story just drags and drags, it only accelerates for a couple of moments of cheap shock value bits. There are a couple of beautiful double page spreads by Charlie Adlard, but that's the only thing worth about his book. If you need to complete your collection go ahead an buy, I have the previous Omnibuses and I did regret buying this one. I should have moved to the cheapers trades.I now have all 6 of these. All are excellent books. Top quality materials and construction. Pictures are awesome and they tell the story really well on extra large pages. Strongly recommend.Different from the tv show and definitely worth the read. I love the size of the Omnibus and the quality of the pages. I would recommend!GreatVol. 5 is great, the story really picks up. This volume is as good and similar to all previous volumes in terms of quality and binding etc. These volumes are expensive and always give me pause for thought before committing to the purchase. However upon arrival I am always glad to have made the leap and purchase the book.I bought the full set 8 volume including the volume 5. I am sad that the box of this omnibus vol 5 cracked and damaged when it reach to my house. There is no precaution done (there is no foam material use in the shipping box) This suppose to be a deluxe collection box set, I feel sad every time when I look at the this collection.Unfortunately somone took a knife to the slipcover. I really wanted this and wasn't allowed to exchange it so. Im stuck now. I like it very much just wish it wasn't butchered :(The book is awesome. It was $30 more than the first four, but was worth it.Excellent
