On the face of it this little paperback might seem a strange book to review, however in getting to grips on the changes in the centre of London and how they relate to its history it is invaluable. Using it to walk around the modern city and the places associated with Shakespeare give a real feeling of continuity in a contemporary living space. The little vignettes for each site are also rather diverting and build on the experience, as well its directions through London's complex transport network are extremely useful for someone who isn't a regular visitor. Overall I'd say it's a useful little book for the Shakespearean or general tourist. When I next hit there I can guarantee it'll be in my backpack or mobile device.
