I have 5 canes. 2 like this, in fact, they are identical. It's for really bad Arthritis days when I need a cane in each hand. I suppose that will be more often over time. It is lightweight cane and the T-shape handle is the best handle I have tried. I highly recommend it. This cane is very sturdy and it can support 350 lbs. I weigh 300 lbs and I am absolutely confident this would support me. It is adjustable, but once you adjust it to your height it is never adjusted again. So, it's a way the company can make a "one size fits all cane" that actually does just that.I have two canes that claim to be rated to 300 lbs., but that is an exaggeration at best. One is a folding cane. It is ridiculous. It is lightweight and I truly believe it would bend and break in a stumble or when you need it most. The tip is large for a solid grip to the ground but then it squeaks loudly and compresses a bit so it never feels secure. It's also ridiculous walking in public squeaking like a toy mouse as you go. Further, collapsible canes have a rubber cord inside to hold the pieces together. Eventually the cord would wear out and break because it is always under strain. That day the cane would come apart in three pieces and you'd be left with an empty handle in your hand and the hard ground waiting to meet you.Another cane is actually a staff-like cane and it is quite tall and you hold it like a hiking stick. This is okay for an able-bodied person for hiking or maintaining one's balance but not for anyone with leg or back issues.My last cane is a custom made hickory heartwood crook-handled cane (candy-cane shaped). It's very strong, quite heavy, beautiful, engraved and cost $187. This type of handle is not as easy to hold as a t-shaped handle and the weight makes it an effort to swing forward when walking. I have a love/hate relationship with it.The NOVA cane is the best choice of them all and they come in a wide range of colors.
