Includes Camping Cot with Mattress Pad
I got this to sleep outside on the lawn and deck in nice weather, and as a cot to bring along when I visit people. This cot is comfortable, and the pad is nice. The pad stays put with no need to tie it in place or add anything like traction tape. It is firm enough that I noticed a bit of pressure on my hip when side sleeping, but not so much that I couldn't fall asleep. This is a nice cot. It is not small when folded, nor is it light, but it is comfortable and ought to be durable for years to come (hopefully). It is a nice height to sit on and put on/take off shoes-much better than a pad on the ground, and keeps me up and away from the creepy-crawlies.It unfolds and is ready to go in seconds, and puts away in the same quick fashion. It takes me longer to deal with my sleeping bag than to set up or take down this cot. This cot is just what I had in mind when ordering it, and am happy with it. It is a cot and not a bed, and as such is not quite as comfortable as a bed, but as a temporary sleeping arrangement, it works very well. So far I have spent five nights on it and slept well.Updated after a week of camping with it:I like the cot and have used it for unplanned overnight stays at my Mom's when needed. It is quite comfortable, and easily stows in her closet. I have also now used it for camping.Pros:~It is easy to set up and take down as is. I can do this in about 2 minutes. Takes considerably longer with my needed modifcations (see below).~I found it to be reasonably comfortable, including trying to sleep with significant knee and back pain while working at a camp. I was able to get a good night's sleep most nights.~I fit on it, no toes over the edge, not hitting the frame anywhere.~It easily fits against a closet wall behind the hanging clothing for home storage.~It seems sturdy, mostly (see below about middle leg issue).Cons:~It is very low. I'm a bit older, and on the heavy side, and have a knee issue. I had to roll off it onto my knees on the floor and then get up from the floor. Ouch. I could pull up with a heavy piece of furniture at my Mom's, but while camping there will be nothing to grab. A week of this will seriously suck.~To address the height, I zip-tied it to 4x6 planks under each of the leg frames. This made the height perfect for me, but brought out another issue. I only saw one other reviewer mention it, but the middle leg seems taller than the end legs and always wants to tip one way or the other. My first night this meant the zip ties failed on one end and the head end was on the floor, not on the 4x6. With 6 more nights to go, I jury-rigged it by rolling up a towel under the head end leg frame on top of the 4x6. The added height kept the middle leg straighter, and I had no trouble the remaining nights. It would be SO nice to have a cot that was still easy to set up, and not require planks, towels, and zip ties. It's big anyway, why not have taller legs on it?~The springs can bite you. I got a nasty blood blister on my forearm getting pinched by a spring. For camping I put a sleeping bag on top of the mattress pad, tucked my fitted sheets over all of it AND the frame, and mostly had no problems. Bedding sometimes caught in the springs, but not me.Overall, I want to love this cot. The size is nice. The height is not. Yes, I figured out a fix, but it was added cost and it becomes a big project to set up, not a couple minutes, and even that needed tweaking due to the middle leg issue. I am not sure if the legs are exactly the same height, but then the end ones angle out effectively making them shorter, and if that's true, it's a serious design flaw. Especially advertising it for big/tall folks, the middle leg being tilted, it seems like it could completely fail, and I think you could get hurt in the ensuing collapse. I may, but probably won't get around to, cutting grooves into my lumber pieces I used and I could then adjust it better for the taller middle leg. But if it was made right in the first place, I wouldn't have to. I feel like 3 stars is generous because it needed a lot to make it workable for more than an occasional overnight.I bought this cot and I tried it out once, therefore my first impression could be wrong. It is extremely easy to setup and put away. The mattress is stored on the bottom of the cot, between the legs. One needs to open the cot, turn it upside down, and then slide out the mattress.I am very satisfied with the length and the width. I am 6' tall and the bed is longer than my body. Also, the width gives you room to stretch. Both are very important. The only negative issue is the thickness / firmness of the mattress. My middle body part sunk into the cot, my body wasn't on the same level. Head & Shoulders and legs were on 1 level and the middle part of the body was lower. If one puts a thin board under the mattress it should provide more comfort. Camps do this for there beds. Or if one sleeps outside with a sleeping bag, it MIGHT be more comfortable. You will need to experiment.Kids and teenagers should find it easy to sleep on it.For $45 or $50, it is worth buying it and trying it out. Since Amazon has an excellent return policy.I purchased this cot to have a temporary bed in the air conditioned room in my house for heat waves. This cot is remarkably comfortable and sturdy for the price. (Note that I prefer firm mattresses) Perhaps most importantly, it's not ridiculously small for my 5' 14" body.If you have ever had the misfortune of sleeping on a military style cot, know that the springs on the ComfortSmart make a BIG difference. It won't replace your memory foam bed, but it will give you a decent night's sleep.I have an AeroBed. While that is good for an air mattress, it still stinks. The ComfortSmart Deluxe is more comfortable, much quicker to set up, and a lot cheaper than even a good air mattress. I really can't say enough about it. I'm already recommending it to people. In 2020, because of Covid-19, for the summer I was living in a trailer in my driveway to keep my family safe while I continued to work. At the end of September I needed to move back into the house for winter, but needed to stay in the basement away from the rest of the family. Social distancing. I started looking at cots to buy to sleep on in the basement. I spent a long time reading through hundreds of reviews of different types of cots, and trying to sift through the pros and cons for each. A lot of other cheaper cots that folded down to store easily, seemed like they broke or ripped not long after being purchased. I wanted something that was going to be good quality and last a long time. I came across this Coleman cot and liked the reviews, and it looked sturdy. I decided to purchase it based on this. It was delivered to my door a few days later in a good quality box.I have been sleeping on this cot every night for the last year and four months (since Sept. 2020). It is a very comfortable cot, and it has been worth every penny spent. I am only 5'6" tall, so there is lots of room for me to get a good night's sleep. The mattress that comes with it is also very comfortable, and I am glad it was included. The other reviews that say it is not good are incorrect. The only issue I find with the mattress is that it is a bit of a pain to fold the cot up to store it with the mattress inside. But not the end of the world. I am only using this cot in the house right now, but when this pandemic is over, I will definitely take it camping with me. I put a twin sheet set on the cot to keep the mattress clean, and I find it helps keep the mattress in place a bit better. I pinch the fitted sheet into the legs of the cot when putting cot up. Overall, this is a great quality cot and you will not lose any sleep buying it.I have been using this as a small resting area at my workplace to get quick power naps. So it has seen very light use indoors. The frame is very sturdy and comfortable. It is overall great. But, one thing that happened to mine is that the seam of the top foam mattress split open with only 10 days of use, and it was not abused, and I only weigh 130lbs. It is a bit disappointing since Coleman is a big brand. I decided live with it as it was not worth the hassle of returning, although Amazon makes it easy to return. I spoke to the support agent and they gave me a partial refund to compensate for the opened seams of the foam mattress. I am pretty happy with the customer service I got so this deserves a 4 star.Just received it today. i will give it a sleep test tonight and update once i am satisfied with it. My initial thoughts, it is slightly heavier and bigger than what i expected. the mattress keeps slipping off the bed. main test will be spending comfortable night. i will update this review again.I only give it the good headline because its not quite as foldable. It doesn't fold into anything that can be carried easily. Other than that its an excellent Cot. Very Comfy, the little mattress that comes with it is great actually I don't know what other picky people say. Its comfier than some hotel mattresses I've been on. All and all I wish I could fold it a few more times but its overall a great Cot supper comfy, good size, and great price!
