This was the one in size and filling that match my old. I did find that I had to microwave longer(a minute more) for it to be very hot enough for me and maintain the heat for a good amount of time. Every microwave is different in the way it heats. Now that I found the right amount of time, I really like how it warms the back of my neck. I hope to have it for years to come.Excellent product-- can recommend w/o hesitation. Product is as represented-- soft, comfortable, clean.When I followed the maker's instructions, the heating pad was not warm enough. Instructions said that overheating it would ruin the contents but without giving it more time than I should, the pad would be of little use. Very disappointed... and I had bought two!!After looking at lots of alternatives (to replace my smelly, old microwavable wheat-bags) I decided to go for this rice-filled version. There are a few things I really love about this one:* it's a nice weight (so it stays put on whichever part of your body needs a bit of heat-therapy)* it doesn't give off that nasty smell that my old wheat-filled ones used to* it heats up nice and evenly and* there's a choice of fabrics - one side being a lovely, warm fleece and the other one cottonAll in all - for me, it's absolutely perfect! Its much more flexible than a hot water bottle but does not stay hot as long as one. There is a fluffy and smooth side and the smooth side gives of more heat. I took mine to bed to help my Rheumatoid hands and it retained its heat longer being covered up.Lovely sized heat pad and easy to follow heating instructions.Great quality and a really nice soft material that is very comfy on the effected parts of body(Shoulder).No smell at all from the heat pad.I’d recommend this item to anybody who requires a well made comfortable heat pad.I bought this for my shoulder as have had surgery. It does stay warm for a while but too heavy on my shoulder that it hurts, can keep it only for couple of minutes. So might not be the one for post surgery. Also it could have been slightly bigger / longer in size as does not cover all neck and shoulders at the same time. One would have expected slightly bigger size considering that it is double the price as compared to other heat packs.
