If you're familiar with Selby flex-sole shoes (the company no longer exists), you remember how great and cushy they felt when you walked. You also remembered that they ran true to size, so that if you wore an 8.5WW like I do, you got EXACTLY that fit in those shoes. You also remember that the leather was real, but thick enough so if it scratched, it could easily be repaired or covered up with a felt tip pen, at least until you could get another pair or get the shoe repaired. And above all, you remember that the Selby heel was spongy, so you don't have the covered-heel repair or hard-heel repair problems.. or, discomfort. Secure walking on Walmart or other internal building overwaxed floors, is assured.Well, whoever designed these Walking Cradles, must have remembered the Selby's, for these shoes have the same characteristics. Also, as did Naturalizer once (but no more), the leather chosen for the shoe was soft, and the internal footbed, gave you lots of wiggle room. That's true here, as well. I'm not fond of the shiny style of the heel, but seriously.. who looks at your heels? Comfort and safety over style, k?And the style of the toe, covers much less than a typical Naturalizer or Shelby or Ros Hammerson pump. It's more a ballet-style toe, so it's more flexible, and you need LESS width than you would, in a normal pump's toe box. Not sure how much I like the shorter toe box, but it works. More than wide enough, in WW, so maybe I could order W or even B and still be comfortable. However, you get no arch support. No problem, if you order a size or two bigger than normal, for then you can buy and use your own insert or orthotic. Which means you can afford to buy one of the sale sizes like I did, buying a 9.5 WW instead, and thus paying 1/3 the normal price. My old Dr Scholl Warm-Eze make up for the looseness in the shoe, and when plane rides swell the feet, I can just remove it. Or, can get an orthotic with arch support. Yay.Four stars pending evaluation of longevity. So now these are keepers, and I'm going to find more colors on sale. Ta Ta!I like the look of the shoe and the front is comfortable but the length is slightly too long. Sending them back for a half size smaller and hopefully that will do the trick. I normally wear a 9N but with pumps the narrows tend to be too tight so I went with the M width and it seems to be about right for me.I liked the shoes, but my usual size 10W was too large and too wide in heel. I could have ordered a replacement but decided to go to a shoe store to be fitted. I found out that no, my feet did not get smaller but our manufacturers don't make shoes with narrow heel. Its cheaper to make few standard widths. So, purchased German made shoes instead, wide width with narrow heel. Problem solved. Not as comfortable as everyone says....the front end of the shoe is super fake with no cushioning. This makes my foot hurt!! Heel height is perfect but the shoe design looks too old ladyish for me. Unfortunately, the shoe came scratched up and Im pretty sure it's been used...not the quality or condition I expected for a NEW shoe...definitely disappointed with the seller and shoe design. NOT WORTH THE MONEY GUYS!Needed a shoe to wear with dresses. Very hard to find a nice looking, sensible, comfortable pump in size 11 wide. These are pretty good -- the rounded toe is definitely a plus. They are fairly comfortable, but a bit long. Size 10-1/2 wide would work but very few shoe companies make this size. This shoe is just about perfect! I love the look, heel height, and overall fit. The only little thing? Could use just a bit of additional toe room. To me, it is the ideal pump---goes with everything and appropriate of all occasions! If you're looking for a sleek, fashionable pump, keep looking. For those of us who can't tolerate heels for any length of time, this is a good compromise. It feels almost like a flat but looks (mostly) like your basic black pump. For a very long time I had been looking for an everyday, comfortable, yet pretty, shoe that I would hang in there with me throughout the day. I searched high and low and no one could get an 8.5 wide-width right. Either the left shoe was not as wide as the right or vise-versa, too wide or not wide enough. Uhhhg, the frustration! I got these a few days later and immediately tried them on. Ahhh-ve-Mar-iii-ahh! Finally, a shoe done right! Pricey, but worth every stinkin' penny.
